Ways To Be Empowered was created from lived experience—not theory.
Kerrie Ann Auclair is a certified NRA and USCCA Firearms Instructor, credentialed through the NRA in Basics of Pistol, Home Firearm Safety, and Refuse To Be A Victim, and is also an NRA-certified Range Safety Officer (RSO). She is additionally a Massachusetts State Police–approved instructor for the Basic Firearms Safety (BFS) course, which is required for individuals applying for a Massachusetts Firearms Identification card or License to Carry.
Understanding that personal safety does not begin or end with a firearm, Kerrie Ann also teaches situational awareness and pepper spray courses, offering students practical, real-world tools for layered personal defense and everyday preparedness.
Kerrie Ann has spent years educating and advocating for responsible gun ownership and personal safety across Massachusetts and beyond. She serves as the Massachusetts State Director for Armed Women of America. She is an advocate with Women For Gun Rights, working to ensure women have a voice in conversations surrounding safety, education, and civil rights. She is also a board member of the Second Amendment Institute, where she supports education-focused outreach and thoughtful policy engagement.
In addition, Kerrie Ann serves on the leadership team of the Civil Rights Coalition, where she volunteers her time organizing, educating, and supporting grassroots efforts to protect civil rights and ensure lawful, responsible gun owners are represented in the legislative process.
In addition to instruction and advocacy, Kerrie Ann hosts the Sisters In Arms – A Firearm Story YouTube series, which highlights women from all walks of life and shares real stories of empowerment, resilience, and responsible firearm ownership.
What began as a personal journey to overcome fear and protect her family has grown into a lifelong mission to help others do the same. Through Ways To Be Empowered, Kerrie Ann provides judgment-free, skill-based training rooted in compassion, clarity, and confidence—whether through firearms education, pepper spray instruction, Refuse To Be A Victim style programs, one-on-one coaching, or community-focused advocacy initiatives.
Because true empowerment doesn’t come from fear or politics, it comes from education, confidence, and informed choice.

Are you ready to take control of your safety, your confidence, and your voice?
At Ways To Be Empowered, this isn't just about learning to shoot, it's about learning to stand Strong. Whether you're brand new to firearms, exploring non-lethal protection, or just want to feel more confident in your everyday life, you're in the right place.
I'm Kerrie Ann Auclair, mother, instructor, advocate, and someone who once stood exactly where you are: unsure, overwhelmed, but ready to learn. I turned fear into confidence, and now I help others do the same.
This is real, personal, and powerful training for real, everyday people.
Let's build your confidence, your skillset, and your empowerment together.

The first rule of firearm ownership isn’t about pulling a trigger; it’s about knowing the rules, training with purpose, and staying aware.
✅ Learn the fundamentals of firearm safety
✅ Train and be proficient with your firearm
✅ Be situationally aware of your surroundings
These aren’t just tips; they are tools that can save your life.
But firearms aren’t your only option. Empowerment comes in many forms. Through my Situational Awareness and Pepper Spray Courses, you’ll learn how to:
Remember: A firearm should always be your last resort.
There are many ways to protect yourself, and it all starts with knowledge.
You have the right to protect yourself and the power to learn how.
